Expleo is recruiting on behalf of our customer for a Cockpit Development Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team supporting premium automotive programmes. This role will play a key part in delivering cockpit content through to engineering sign-off, ensuring all development activities meet programme milestones.
Location: Warwickshire (Hybrid)
Contract until March 2027 (Maternity Cover)
Rate: £27.20 per hour (Umbrella)
The Role
As a Cockpit Development Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting multiple cockpit programmes from test planning through to final engineering approval. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure delivery aligns with timing, cost, and quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver final engineering sign-off of new cockpit content to programme gateway timing
- Set up, monitor, track, and report development progression
- Ensure all relevant engineering standards are met throughout design maturation
- Develop and manage detailed test and validation plans
- Manage programme tracking via RMDV (and evolving XRAY/TRM systems)
- Create and maintain Bills of Materials for test parts
- Source and obtain quotes from suppliers and test houses, working with value for money teams for approvals
- Prepare and coordinate parts for testing, analyse results, and resolve issues
- Produce reports and ensure accurate documentation within RMDV
- Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to maintain test plan delivery
- Support programme communication with the Cockpit Module Leader
- Maintain accurate module documentation including meeting minutes
