Expleo is working closely with a globally renowned Automotive OEM in Central London to recruit a highly creative Automotive Colour Designer, on a contract basis. In this role, you will deliver modern, innovative colour and material design solutions for new vehicle programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creative Design – Projects
- Research and develop visual concept proposals in collaboration with the Global Colour Group, bringing a unique and innovative perspective.
- Initiate and develop design themes while maintaining the integrity of the design brief.
- Use the latest design tools to illustrate proposals effectively.
- Research, develop, and propose innovative materials or finishes with suppliers, ensuring feasibility and cost targets.
- Communicate design concepts clearly and maintain exceptional visual presentation standards.
- Project Management
- Mentor peers to enhance creativity and efficiency within the design team.
- Independently lead colour projects from initial exploration through to final release.
- Participate in project planning meetings to ensure clarity of direction.
- Create and manage timing plans, ensuring adherence to cost targets.
- Maintain regular communication with all business partners and stakeholders.
- Stay fully engaged with overall project requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Highly creative and innovative, with a proactive mindset.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Motivational team player with leadership and project management experience.
- Ability to challenge and innovate in colour and materials.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Art & Design.
- Technical awareness of material manufacturing processes.
- Automotive industry experience and knowledge of current trends.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
Additional Requirement: Candidates must be able to travel across Europe and the UK approximately once every two months, for around 3 days at a time.
