Expleo is a leading Global Engineering Services Provider with UK presence in 10 locations. We are seeking a Test Systems Architect to provide support to the Missiles team. This activity is based at our client’s Stevenage facility but occasional travel to their Filton location may also be required. We are looking for an energetic and driven engineer with broad expertise; however, of particular interest would be candidates with (in order of priority) defence, aerospace, military, marine or rail experience. Responsibilities
- The Test Systems Architect will perform but is not limited to the following types of activities centred on definition, delivery and implementation of testing:
- Definition of the Test Equipment (TE) Technical Requirements and Statement of Work
- Managing the delivery of the TE from our internal TE design team and managing any TE Design trades
- Defining and implementing the project test strategy
- Defining and implementing the project BIT architecture including coverage requirements, BIT timings and system level BIT routines
- Specifying the missile factory pass out testing used to ensure correct build of our product, supporting the manufacturing team with identifying the optimal test stages during production
- Specifying the in-service test routines on our missiles
- Generating and managing compliance to the lower-level test requirements placed upon design teams
Qualifications
- Degree level qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- A lower qualification would be acceptable for example HNC/HND should the candidate be able to demonstrate significant demonstrable experience in lieu
Essential Skills
- Clear verbal and written communication skills with the ability to modify the message to pitch at all levels of the organisation
- A thorough and methodical approach to work with high quality and accuracy
- The ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams to achieve project goals
- The ability to interpret and produce technical documentation, such as SOR, SOW & trade studies
Desired Skills
- Significant previous experience of full lifecycle in a Test Equipment Environment (includes design, development, integration and test)
- Detailed knowledge of test equipment & how it is used
- Experience with electronic measurement techniques
- LabWindows CVI / TestStand familiarity
Experience
- Experience in performing work of the kind described in this job description
- Understanding of BIT in all its forms
- Understanding of test coverage analysis
