Expleo are working with a major Automotive manufacturer based in Bedfordshire, who are recruiting for a Materials Handling Support Technician, to join their team on a contract basis. This position will be working within a major Research and Development facility, where the successful candidate will be required to inspect vehicle parts to ensure they adhere to technical drawings and also ensure the timely receipt, and booking in of vehicle parts.
Responsibilities within the Materials Handling Support position include:
- Accurately describe / report parts that have failed inspection
- Receipt of Goods In / Out, to include unloading of vehicle test parts in a timely manner
- Liaising with relevant departments to advise of parts arrival
- Picking test parts as requested by team members
- Using stock control databases
Background & Experience required for the Materials Handling Support role:
- Ability to recognise car parts
- Competent in the use of hand-held measuring tools - verniers, vernier calipers, feeler gauges
- Background in Automotive
- Experience using CAD and reading engineering drawings is desirable
- Forklift licence is desirable
- Experience of using computer packages
- Good organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage and prioritise your own workload
- A team player with a βcan doβ attitude
- Current Full UK Driving Licence
