Are you a junior engineer eager to kickstart your career in a fast-growing team? We’re looking for Junior Vehicle Integration Engineers to join us on a contract basis, working closely with our customer based in Warwickshire, contributing to the development and evolution of our Internal Combustion Engine (ICE), Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV), and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) programmes. In this role, you’ll support Lead Engineers in delivering Propulsion Efficiency, with a strong focus on Fuel Economy and Hybrid Range across a wide range of international markets, each with its own unique regulatory challenges.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with Lead Engineers and AGILE Squads within the Powertrain department to define robust attribute targets.
- Supports the achievement of Propulsion Efficiency attribute targets across Model Years and/or Vehicle Lines.
- Contributes to vehicle-level testing at both virtual and physical properties as needed.
- Maintaining PED tools and documentation with the latest attribute metrics.
- Analyzing test data to produce attribute status reports for each vehicle line, including meaningful comparisons with historical data, compliance benchmarks, and other vehicle lines.
- Calculating attribute status and generating robust, declarable metrics.
- Assisting with test and development activities as directed by Lead Engineers or the Chapter Leader.
- Interfacing with Powertrain Product Squads, Homologation & Certification Teams, and Vehicle Engineering Teams as required.
Required Skills
- Must understand the physics behind vehicle efficiency, cycle energy demand, PHEV electric range, by academic knowledge or direct work experience.
- Must have significant working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Must have knowledge of requirements and standards reading, interpreting and writing.
- Experience is desirable.
- Driving Licence.
- Experience in vehicle fuel economy declarations.
- Knowledge of fundamentals of statistics.
Education
- Degree in Automotive Engineering or equivalent.
