Are you an Automotive User Experience (UX) Engineer / Designer looking for your next opportunity? If so, Expleo have an opportunity for you! We are seeking a practical and hands-on UX Engineers and Designers with a passion for testing and digital interaction. One of the world's largest automotive manufacturers is currently recruiting for Automotive UX Engineer / Designers to help them develop unique and innovative vehicles. You will support delivery across our digital in-vehicle experiences. Based in Warwickshire, you will be supporting a dedicated and multidisciplinary design and research team on a contract basis.
Responsibilities of the UX Engineer / Designer roles include:
- Plan and execute UX testing activities across vehicles, simulators and digital prototypes
- Work closely with designers and product teams to define research needs and translate findings into clear recommendations
- Manage testing logistics and ensure high standards of research quality
- Identify usability issues and make recommendations
- Collaborate closely between the UX and UI design teams, responsible for interpreting and realising creative intent, designing components, whilst ensuring visual quality control to complex HMI specifications with pixel-perfect UI
- Record and communicate findings from user studies
- Contribute to the creation of benchmarking and user profiles
Qualifications and skills required for the UX Engineer / Designer positions include:
- Degree in a relevant subject matter or equivalent industry experience
- Skilled in conducting Automotive usability studies and user testing
- Experienced 3D artist with expert knowledge of 3D tools & Animation
- Knowledge of user-centred design and interaction
- Experience in testing physical, digital and immersive prototypes
- Ability to create models suitable for real-time animation and usage
- Previous experience within a games developer or 3D production house
- Experience as a 3D designer, including 3D modelling for real-time engines
- Knowledge of simulators or immersive testing environments is desirable
- Confident in testing physical, digital and immersive prototypes
- Background within automotive UX or human-machine interaction
- Understanding of Automotive UX constraints
- Full UK driving licence
