Are you an Automotive Manufacturing Engineer with a background within Assembly Process, seeking a new challenge? Expleo are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support one of our leading automotive clients, based in Birmingham on a contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity supporting designing, developing, and implementing new or revised processes for assembling component parts and sub-assemblies required for a finished product.
Key Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer:
- Application of Lean Manufacturing and Design principles.
- Feasibility of all designs to suit manufacturing build requirements – Design for Assembly (DFA).
- Build process strategy for manufacturing.
- Planning, developing and implementation of all written Processes for manufacturing.
- Planning, developing and implementation of all tooling, jigs and fixtures for manufacturing.
- Process Capability of all processes and equipment, including Dimensional Management applications.
- Quality Planning and Analysis for Manufacturing.
- Ensure adherence to Integrated Production System (IPS) deliverables.
- Support virtual build events.
- Support physical builds at Assembly Plant locations.
- Developing system logic for lineside equipment.
Skills and Experience required for the Manufacturing Engineer position:
- Degree qualified in a relevant subject matter or equivalent experience.
- Experience of Manufacturing / Engineering processes, tools and techniques.
- Experience in the application of a logical approach to Problem Solving.
- Results driven with the ability to deliver operational plans in a highly demanding environment.
- Knowledge of and involvement in the product development phase.
- Understanding of IPS requirements.
