Operations and Maintenance Manager (Solar PV) in Slough

About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Operations & Maintenance Manager to lead the operational performance of a growing portfolio of utility-scale solar PV projects across the UK. Based in London, this role offers the opportunity to drive operational excellence, optimize asset performance, and engage directly with clients and contractors to ensure long-term value delivery across clean energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management

• Oversee daily O&M activities of operational solar PV projects.
• Ensure performance KPIs, availability targets, and quality benchmarks are consistently met.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, or performance issues swiftly.
• Utilize digital platforms to monitor and analyze asset performance and trends.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as the main point of contact for clients throughout the O&M lifecycle.
• Lead regular performance reviews and technical briefings.
• Ensure stakeholder concerns and escalations are addressed professionally and promptly.

Commercial & Budget Oversight

• Support budget planning and expenditure tracking across the O&M portfolio.
• Collaborate with commercial teams to manage contract compliance and mitigate risks.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization and service enhancement.

Project Close-Out & Contractual Management

• Participate in handovers and project close-out discussions regarding warranties and performance milestones.
• Ensure all close-out documentation is completed, filed, and meets contractual obligations.

Team & Contractor Management

• Support hiring, onboarding, and performance development for O&M teams.
• Manage subcontractors and suppliers, including sourcing, vetting, and quality reviews.
• Champion a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Reporting & Documentation

• Produce detailed monthly/annual reports on O&M performance, incidents, and optimizations.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation, including RAMS, site inspections, and maintenance logs.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in operations and maintenance, preferably within renewable energy.
• Strong understanding of solar PV technology and fault diagnostics.
• Experience managing budgets, contracts, and performance KPIs.
• Ability to liaise with clients, suppliers, and field teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in O&M monitoring systems and reporting tools.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to sites across the region.
