We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to support the Finance team with day-to-day financial transaction processing and administrative tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in finance and gain exposure to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, and month-end processes. Working closely with internal stakeholders and the wider finance team, you will help ensure the accurate and timely processing of financial information while maintaining high levels of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Process supplier invoices and support Accounts Payable activities
- Assist with Accounts Receivable administration and customer account maintenance
- Upload and allocate customer payments accurately
- Reconcile customer accounts, supplier statements, and bank transactions
- Support credit control activities, including monitoring outstanding balances and following up on overdue invoices
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies and account queries
- Assist with daily banking activities and cash allocation
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Support month-end activities, including reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and journal entries
- Assist with balance sheet reconciliations
- Produce routine finance reports and spreadsheets
- Support audit requests by gathering and organising documentation
- Liaise with internal departments regarding invoices, payments, and account queries
- Monitor shared finance inboxes and respond to queries in a timely manner
- Maintain supplier and customer master data records
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and financial controls
- Provide general administrative support to the Finance team
- Assist with process improvements and other ad hoc finance projects as required
Required Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in an administrative, finance, accounts, or customer service role
- Good numerical and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong organisational skills
Desirable
- Experience working within a finance or accounts environment
- Understanding of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or Credit Control processes
- Experience using accounting or ERP systems
- Experience performing reconciliations
