A leading infrastructure delivery firm is seeking a Commissioning Manager to lead the development and execution of a high-profile, mission-critical infrastructure project in the UK. This pivotal role ensures all mechanical and electrical systems—including HVAC, UPS, generators, switchgear, BMS, and fire protection—are commissioned to the highest standards of performance, safety, and compliance.
You’ll be the key driver behind a fully integrated commissioning strategy, collaborating with internal and external teams to ensure successful handover and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive commissioning strategy in alignment with project milestones.
- Manage commissioning for all major critical systems: HVAC, UPS, generators, LV/MV switchgear, BMS, and fire protection/suppression systems.
- Oversee and coordinate external commissioning agents and specialists.
- Control the commissioning programme and budget, proactively mitigating risks.
- Ensure full compliance with all regulatory, contractual, and internal standards.
- Liaise with design, construction, and operational teams to facilitate seamless project handover.
- Maintain accurate, real-time reporting and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Proven experience managing commissioning on large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure projects.
- Deep technical knowledge of M&E systems and their interdependencies.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams including external contractors and consultants.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with a solution-focused mindset.
- Engineering qualifications in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering preferred.
- Prior experience in high-availability environments such as data centres is highly desirable.
