We are seeking two experienced HV Senior Authorised Persons (SAPs) with current SSE Networks authorisations to support a long-term framework in the SSE South region. This is a field-based role covering London and the surrounding areas, offering a critical opportunity to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient HV services.
Location: Field-based – London, Greater London & Surrounding Areas (SSE South region)
Contract Type: Contract / Freelance
Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver HV projects including installation, maintenance, upgrades, and fault response.
- Prepare and execute switching programmes, outages, and safety documentation in line with SSE Distribution Safety Rules.
- Apply Safety From the System (SFT) and ensure compliance with all safe systems of work.
- Issue Permits for Work and Sanctions for Test.
- Carry out HV/LV testing, fault finding, commissioning, and refurbishment.
- Produce job packs, RAMS, test certificates, and technical reports.
- Interpret electrical drawings and coordinate site activities with engineers, subcontractors, and utilities.
- Maintain SAP competence and ensure adherence to all H&S and quality standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current SSE SAP authorisations (11kV / 33kV) including Permit for Work and Sanction for Test.
- Strong HV distribution experience with knowledge of SSE Distribution Safety Rules.
- Relevant technical qualification (BTEC, City & Guilds, or equivalent Electrical Engineering apprenticeship).
- Excellent H&S awareness and compliance knowledge.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across London, Greater London, and surrounding areas.
