Backend Rust Engineer - Options Trading. Since our beginnings in 2017, we’ve grown to be a leading change-maker in the digital asset space, renowned for our partnerships and innovation. Today, we have over 200 team members around the world, with hubs in London, Brussels and Singapore, and a predominantly remote setup. We trade on more than 80 exchanges and work with a wide array of asset issuers. We are a well-established market maker with services spanning market making, options trading, high-frequency trading, OTC, and DeFi trading desks. We are pioneers in adopting the Rust development language for algorithmic trading and support Web3 growth through our Accelerator Program and liquidity injections into promising DeFi, RWA, and NFT protocols. We actively build the future of digital assets at Keyrock.
Role and responsibilities
Mission statement: We are looking for a Rust OR C++ Engineer with extensive (HFT) trading systems experience to join our team. The technology stack focuses on Rust (backend), TypeScript (UI), and Python (data), with a willingness to learn or become proficient in Rust. C++/C backgrounds are also welcome.
You will join our small but rapidly growing Options Business Unit’s fully remote engineering team, building out and improving our low-latency options trading system. You will have the opportunity to solve meaningful business problems with a high impact on our bottom line. We are seeking candidates in Asian or European time zones.
Required skills include:
- Very strong on scalable systems architecture and simple, extendable APIs
- Experience with low latency and/or option trading is highly valued
- Ability to work in a wider team environment within a globally remote async team
- Pragmatic problem solving with iterative approaches, balancing business requirements with long-term technical vision
- Complete ownership from gathering initial requirements to deployment
- Operational mindset with understanding of infrastructure and deployments
Background and experience
- Expert low-latency and/or data-heavy trading systems or equivalent (5+ years)
- Strong experience with either Rust and/or C/C++
- Willingness to become an expert in Rust
- Experience with unit and integration testing, or equivalent functional testing approaches
- Options trading knowledge or a keen interest is essential
- Previous experience with exchange connectivity and/or FPGA technologies is valuable
- Experience with PostgreSQL databases and protobuf-based protocols, or similar technologies, is essential
