Expert Construction are working in partnership with a prominent Civil Engineering Contractor, based in Co Tyrone, to recruit a SHEQ Manager. This is a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing SHEQ standards before, during and after all projects.
The SHEQ Manager's duties would typically include:
- Overseeing the implementation of the Company’s Integrated Management system and proposing improvements (where appropriate).
- Acting as the Company representative for audits carried out by external bodies for certifications.
- Providing an SHEQ support service to the business, supporting senior management through tender and pre-qualification processes (as required).
- Providing guidance and information to management and employees on SHEQ legislation/matters, ensuring all site files are set up prior to project commencement, maintained by site throughout the project life cycle and updated as and when required.
- Ensuring RAMS are up to date at the commencement of each project and amended throughout the life cycle of the project in line with any changes to site systems of working.
- Providing Directors with management information and advice on the development of SHEQ policies and procedures.
- Ensuring all SHEQ policies and procedures are implemented, understood and adhered to on all site locations, so far as is reasonably practicable, in order to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensuring all site SHEQ KPIs are reported monthly and identifying any issues/trends requiring improvement and recognition.
- Carrying out regular site visits, conducting internal site audits and observing working practices on site, offering coaching where needed and recommendations for refresher training requirements.
- Ensuring all new starters receive a comprehensive Induction to the Company and the client (where required), ensuring all new starters are fully aware of relevant SHEQ policies and procedures and the Company’s internal and site systems.
- Acting as the Company representative to ensure adherence to all legal obligations as set out by the Department for Transport and the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency in the management of Company vehicles and employees who have driving responsibilities.
- Supporting the business in the delivery of its sustainability programme to avoid or reduce waste and promote recycling initiatives where possible.
- Ensuring the continual monitoring of environmental protection measures during projects, implementing process controls and environmental awareness training where required.
- Participating and supporting the Company as a member of the Company’s senior management team in the delivery of the business objectives and KPIs.
Location: Head Office based with projects throughout the UK and Ireland.
