Expert Construction welcomes applications for this role with a dynamic civil engineering contractor based in County Tyrone. Their projects span a broad range of sectors and are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team. With the establishment of an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), employees enjoy the benefit of Tax-Free bonus payments, whilst contributing to the success of the Company.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the commercial management of a variety of construction projects. Main duties include:
- Preparation of feasibility studies, reporting on tenders and agreeing final accounts
- Preparation of the production and timely submission of interim valuations, WIP, Cash Flow Forecasts and reconciliation reports
- Management of Variations / Compensation Events and Contractual Claims processes
- Preparation of contract orders, valuations and final accounts
- Preparation of Client quotations and budgets
Candidate requirements:
- Relevant Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
- A minimum of 5 years relevant post-graduate experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a contracting environment; experience on Civil Engineering Projects desirable
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of contract law and legal procedures
- Technical proficiency; knowledge of construction methods, materials and cost accounting principles
- Well organised, can manage and prioritise workload to achieve deadlines
- Works well as part of a team
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficient in IT/relevant software; ability to use construction cost accounting software and other project management tools
- Valid UK Driving licence is essential
- The right to work in the UK is essential
