Expert Construction are delighted to be working alongside this dynamic Main Contractor based in the Derry / L'Derry They work across a broad range of sectors and are now looking for an experienced Estimator to join their Commercial team.

The role reports to the Head of Estimating and they will work mainly within the Building / Ground works sectors with projects throughout the UK & ROI.

Main duties: Working closely with Estimating and Commercial Managers, you will be responsible for:- Researching materials, equipment and labour costs and review potential Value Engineering options.

Preparing and sub-contractor/supplier packages for sending out to the market.

Collecting quotes from material suppliers and sub-contractors.

Analysing sub-contractor/supplier quotations for the most competitive and compliant.

Planning job timescales, assist with programme preparation and assess the levels of risk on a project Assess individual rates and prices, amend, create new or insert from material and subcontract quotes.

Attend relevant meetings/site visits.

Prepare tender for project deadlines/finalisation with Commercial Manager Experience in pricing tenders using an estimating system Presenting completed tenders to management Candidate requirements; Relevant Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline A minimum of 6 years post-graduate experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a similar main contracting role Experience in pricing civil works The ability to work effectively as part of a team Strong communication and negotiation skills Experience with Autocad and QS take off packages Experience with estimating software packages Excellent attention to detail Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages Experience with Microsoft Project Driving licence is essential An attractive salary package, is on offer for the successful candidate, subject to experience.
