The Role

This is not a standard inspection role. As Quality Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for our Client's digital quality management system developing ITP libraries, designing and configuring inspection workflows in Procore, managing quality gates, producing dashboards and KPI reporting, standardising inspection forms across all product lines, and training staff to ensure consistent adoption across all sites. Alongside the digital systems remit, you will provide hands-on quality assurance across the full project lifecycle from design review and incoming goods through to fabrication, assembly, testing, and Factory Acceptance. You will work closely with our Design, Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, and Production teams to embed quality at every stage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Assurance Full Project Lifecycle
    • Participate in design reviews and ensure project-specific ITPs are configured and approved within Procore before production commences.
    • Engage with Project Managers from kick-off, reviewing client specifications and building quality requirements into each project programme.
    • Manage incoming goods inspections, material certification checks, and supplier NCR processes.
    • Carry out in-process quality inspections throughout fabrication and assembly, maintaining quality gate checkpoints at each workstation.
    • Plan, coordinate, and lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), including client-witnessed inspections, with all records managed within Procore.
    • Raise and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), lead root cause investigations using 5 Whys, Fishbone or FMEA, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and verified.
    • Support internal and external audits including ISO 9001 surveillance and water authority inspections.
  • Digital Quality Management (Procore)
    • Develop, maintain and continuously improve standard ITP templates within Procore for all major product lines.
    • Configure and administer quality workflows within Procore including inspections, hold points, approvals, observations, defects, and close-out processes.
    • Develop digital inspection forms, quality checklists and testing records to standardise quality assurance across all projects.
    • Monitor inspection and testing completion through Procore dashboards, ensuring quality gates are not bypassed before work progresses.
    • Produce digital quality reports and live KPI dashboards from Procore, covering inspection status, NCR trends, outstanding actions and overall project quality performance.
    • Act as system owner for Procore Quality Management, driving consistent adoption across all business units and sites.
    • Provide training and ongoing support to staff in the effective use of Procore quality tools.
    • Support the development of integrated quality processes linking Procore with ERP systems, document control and product serialisation initiatives.
  • Reporting & Continuous Improvement
    • Generate weekly quality reports and live dashboards covering inspection completion, quality gates, NCR status, and corrective actions.
    • Analyse quality data and NCR trends to identify and drive improvement across all product lines and processes.
    • Contribute to Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience of inspection, NCR management, and root cause analysis.
