How to prepare for a job interview at Expert Recruitment

Know Your Stuff

Make sure you brush up on your knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management in construction. Familiarise yourself with common materials and services used in the industry, as well as any recent trends or challenges. This will show that you're not just a candidate, but someone who genuinely understands the role.

Showcase Your Experience

Prepare specific examples from your past roles where you've successfully managed purchase orders or resolved supply issues. Be ready to discuss how you’ve built relationships with suppliers and how you’ve handled negotiations. This will help demonstrate your hands-on experience and problem-solving skills.

Communicate Clearly

Since excellent communication is key for this role, practice articulating your thoughts clearly and concisely. Think about how you would explain complex procurement concepts to someone without a background in construction. This will highlight your ability to work collaboratively with site and commercial teams.

Be Organised

Bring along a notebook or digital device to jot down important points during the interview. This shows that you’re organised and serious about the position. Plus, it gives you a chance to ask insightful questions about the company’s procurement processes and how they manage multiple projects.
