We are seeking a hands-on Enterprise Architect to join our Life Sciences manufacturing practice. In this senior contributor role with functional leadership responsibility across the architecture community, you will shape and govern the end-to-end technology landscape for complex pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical-device clients. You will translate business strategy into coherent enterprise architecture, drive digital transformation and serve as the authoritative voice on architecture standards, roadmaps, and technology investments.

Operating at the intersection of technical depth and strategic vision, you will bridge the gap between manufacturing operations, enterprise and operations IT and site leadership enabling seamless tech transfer, manufacturing excellence, and regulatory compliance across the value chain. You are equally at home articulating a multi-year architecture roadmap to C-suite executives and diving deep into integration patterns, diverse platform configurations and data flows when the moment demands it.

The individual must have 10-15 years of experience in life sciences manufacturing/industrial sector and be exposed to working in tech transfer process, clinical manufacturing, commercial manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architecture Strategy & Governance
    • Define, own and evolve the enterprise architecture vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmaps spanning business, application, data, integration and process flow from Lab to Plant.
    • Establish and enforce architectural principles, policies, guardrails, and reference architectures that enable solution architects and product owners to move quickly without creating unmanaged risk or technical debt.
    • Lead Architecture Review Board (ARB) governance processes; review and approve solution designs for alignment with enterprise standards.
    • Conduct horizon scanning across industry and emerging technology trends and assess their applicability and impact for Life Sciences clients.
    • Maintain 'as-is', 'to-be', and transition-state architecture artefacts; communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Manage architectural risk, ensuring technology investments meet scalability, security, compliance, and total cost of ownership (TCO) objectives.
    • Liason with product/platform vendors to closely shape the architecture and bring the best of capabilities of platforms into the site.
  • Technology Integration & Tech Transfer Process Leadership
    • Architect and govern end-to-end IT/OT ecosystem solutions spanning SAP, Data Lakes, Tech Transfer, Data Fabric Layer, Downstream Applications and Integration with LIMS, MES etc.
    • Design and oversee complex system integrations between SAP, MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), PLM, LIMS and downstream applications.
    • Define integration patterns, API strategies, and middleware frameworks to enable interoperability across heterogeneous landscapes.
    • Lead technology migration and modernization Programmes, ensuring coherent transition from legacy systems to cloud-native or hybrid architectures.
    • Stay current with platform roadmap and ensure client architectures leverage the full value of investments in autonomous manufacturing.
  • Life Sciences Domain Expertise
    • Apply deep understanding of Life Sciences business processes - including Labs, clinical manufacturing, technology transfer (TT), commercial manufacturing, quality to architect for fit-for-purpose solutions.
    • Design digital thread architectures that connect process development to manufacturing, enabling faster, more reliable tech transfer and batch release.
    • Ensure architecture patterns comply with Life Sciences regulatory frameworks: GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11, GAMP 5 and data integrity requirements.
    • Collaborate with client quality and regulatory affairs teams to embed compliance-by-design principles into solution architectures.
    • Identify and leverage pre-built industry solutions/models and partner ecosystems to accelerate time-to-value for clients.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
    • Act as a trusted advisor and thought leader to senior business & technology stakeholders to facilitate strategic alignment between business objectives and technology capabilities.
    • Lead a team of solution architects, product owners, business analysts across engagements; foster a culture of architectural excellence, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
    • Communicate complex architectural concepts with clarity and conviction tailoring messages for executive, programme, and delivery audiences.
    • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams including product management, engineering, data, security, cloud, and operations to ensure architectural coherence.
