Our client, a very successful med-tech software device company, is looking for a detail-oriented, self-driven Technology Specialist / Field Service Engineer to join our Technology team in the UK.

Their medical devices enable faster, earlier detection and diagnosis of blood-related diseases, so patients can start treatment sooner and have better outcomes. The company has a dedicated base of partners and clients worldwide with some of the leading global brand medical device companies, and exciting plans to expand to new markets.

The position:

As the Technology Specialist / Service Engineer you will provide remote and sometimes on-site support for clients, including mechanical and software troubleshooting, field installations and corrective maintenance.

Responsibilities:

● Provide systems support for clients of all business units, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, resolving, and documenting issues. Handle customer technical support cases through phone, email, and chat submissions.

● Perform global field installations and repairs; monitor and schedule preventive maintenance on all direct customer devices; monitor upcoming installations

● Test software updates and conduct regression testing

● Become a subject matter expert on all of the company’s existing and future products.

● Manage department’s knowledge base and documentations interfacing with production, and coordinate continuing education with Technology Group

● Available for on-call responsibilities to attend to technical issues outside regular business hours.

● Domestic and international travel (20-40%)

Requirements:

● MUST: Associate Degree or Technical Certificate

● MUST: At least two years’ experience in a field engineer, customer engineer, technical support, help desk or customer service role

● MUST: 2+ years of experience with Linux OS

● MUST: Basic network concepts understood (DHCP, DNS, IPv4)

● MUST: Knowledge of WAN and LAN Concepts, interfaces, protocols, and topology

● MUST: Computer, electronics, and optics troubleshooting and repair

● ADV: Experience with SQL, Python, C or C++

● ADV: Experience with Jira

● ADV: Experience with medical devices / robotics / semi-conductors
