We are supporting a well-established organisation in Wrexham that is looking to appoint an experienced Interim IT Manager to oversee day-to-day IT operations across a busy manufacturing and operational environment. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who can manage IT support operations, drive service improvements, work closely with stakeholders across the business, and provide stability within a fast-paced environment. The role will suit somebody coming from an infrastructure / IT operations background who has moved into IT management and is comfortable balancing both strategic oversight and hands-on operational delivery when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day IT operations across the site.
- Manage and support onsite IT engineers and third-party suppliers.
- Ensure stability, availability, and performance of core IT services.
- Act as the main escalation point for infrastructure and support-related issues.
- Drive improvements across IT processes, service delivery, and user experience.
- Work closely with operational and manufacturing teams to support business-critical systems.
- Manage hardware lifecycle, asset management, and onsite technology projects.
- Support infrastructure, networking, desktop, and Microsoft environment activities where required.
- Ensure compliance with security, governance, and operational standards.
- Coordinate IT change activity and support ongoing transformation initiatives.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience as an IT Manager, Infrastructure Manager, IT Operations Manager, or similar.
- Strong background across IT support and infrastructure environments.
- Experience managing IT within manufacturing, industrial, logistics, or operational environments would be highly beneficial.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience managing third-party suppliers and support partners.
- Good understanding of:
- Microsoft environments (M365, Windows, AD, Azure)
- Networking and infrastructure
- IT service delivery and operations
- End-user support environments
