We’re seeking a Product Safety Engineer to play a critical role in ensuring the safety and compliance of complex systems for MOD projects. You’ll work closely with Safety and Technical Authorities to deliver robust safety arguments and maintain compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
What You’ll Do
- Lead hazard and risk identification, assessment, and management activities
- Develop safety artefacts and maintain key documentation, including Safety & Environmental Management Plans and Hazard Logs
- Support compliance with legislation, regulations, and standards such as DEF Stan 00-056, IEC 61508, JSPs
- Provide safety input during design reviews and bid activities
- Act as a key point of contact for safety within project teams
What We’re Looking For
- In-depth knowledge of Product Safety Management processes
- Experience delivering MOD projects (not HSE/QSEP)
- Familiarity with standards like DEF Stan 00-056, IEC 61508, JSPs, and DSA02
- Chartered status or working towards it
- Ability to obtain UK Security Clearance
