Contract Data Architect/Consultant - Greenfield Power BI Implementation

Length: Initial 4-week discovery - 18+ month roadmap

Location: South UK/London - hybrid

Start Date: October 2026

Rate: Day Rate Outside IR35/Deliverables negotiable

The role: I'm looking for a Contract Data Architect/Consultant to lead a greenfield Power BI initiative, designing and implementing the reporting and analytics environment from the ground up as the first step in a wider transformation within a rapidly scaling business.

  • Own the initial setup and architecture of a brand-new Power BI environment
  • Assess fragmented/disconnected data sources and design a consolidation approach
  • Define data models, governance, and best-practice standards from scratch
  • Translate operational pain points (manual reporting, siloed systems) into a scalable BI architecture
  • Lay foundations that support future AI-enabled reporting capability

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience delivering greenfield Power BI setups (not BAU/maintenance)
  • Background in NHS, Government, MedDev, Medical, or Pharma/healthcare regulated experience is highly relevant
  • Experience consolidating fragmented data sources and modernising manual reporting processes
  • Strong grasp of data governance and security best practices in regulated environments
  • Comfortable working independently with senior stakeholders in a scaling business
