The Role
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will join our team supporting our client and their customers. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on IT and networking experience who enjoys solving problems, learning new skills, and contributing to critical projects. You will work in an ITIL-based environment supporting multiple projects across different layers, delivering technical outputs that ensure secure, efficient transfer of data and the delivery of key communications and network systems. The role will be delivering network solutions that provide critical services for our customers.
Day-to-day, you will be investigating and resolving technical issues, supporting multiple projects across different layers of the network, and ensuring the secure transfer of data for our client and their clients' customers. You will work closely with project managers and technical leads to deliver quality outputs, assist with system implementations, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, develop processes, and support the team by sharing knowledge, providing practical solutions, and helping maintain high standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Investigate and resolve technical issues across existing networks and systems
- Support multiple projects and ensure timely delivery of technical outputs
- Implement and configure new systems and solutions
Essential experience of the Senior Network Engineer:
- Hands-on experience in networking, IT and communications.
- Experience 5+ years as a networking engineer in an IT department
- Support an existing Juniper SRX based network with cyber patches/issue investigation as and when needed (using VPNs, VLANS, within ESXi server environment).
- Certificate based VPN experience would be advantageous.
- Understanding of Microsoft, Windows, Linux, Juniper or coding environments would be advantageous
- Ability to investigate problems and provide solutions to complex network issues
- Professionalism and experience in a structured IT environment
Essential qualifications for the Senior Network Engineer:
- Degree in engineering or equivalent IT-related experience
- Hands-on experience working on IT architecture or network systems
