Duration: 6 months
Location: Telford, hybrid 3 days (60%) on site required
£(Apply online only) per day – Umbrella only

Candidates must hold Active SC clearance.

Role Description:

We are looking to recruit dynamic and energetic team members for the SRE/Ops Engineering Team who are keen on developing their skills and enhancing their careers. The Ops Engineering Space is at the forefront of the infrastructure transformation. You will work in a small team with other engineers, managing supportable, sustainable, and reliable services.

Responsibilities:

1. Initiating continuous process improvements for better operational effectiveness.
2. Identifying re-occurring manual tasks with a view to automate.
3. Developing corrective actions to resolve operational issues.
4. Upgrading and patching lifecycle management.
5. Supporting the start-up and integration of new operations from projects.
6. Identifying and implementing cost optimization and reduction initiatives.
7. Investigating and understanding root causes for issues in business operations.

Technologies Required:

The Role will require an appreciation of the following technologies: AWS, TerraForm, Azure, Gitlab, LINUX Administration (RHEL); OpsView, PagerDuty, Ansible, Bastion Host, and more.

Skills:

1. Good communication skills both in written and verbal with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
2. A good understanding of using robust Software Engineering best practices/methodologies.
3. An ability to converse with both internal and external stakeholders.
4. An appetite for learning new technologies.
5. A capacity to identify and drive forward improvements.
6. An awareness of DevOps and Agile principles.
7. Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Working collaboratively, you will not necessarily need to know all the answers – you just need to know how to get them from the people who do. An inquisitive mind will be advantageous.
