We are supporting a defence programme delivering capability at the front edge of a deployable communications platform, and are looking for an experienced Network / Systems Engineer to join the engineering team on a contract basis. This role requires a hands-on generalist engineer who is comfortable working across networking, systems integration and platform engineering within secure defence environments.
The successful candidate will support the ongoing development, build and deployment of communications capability used in operational settings. You will be working closely with technical teams, programme stakeholders and operational users, so strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills are essential. Regular travel will be required to secure MOD sites across the South West and Midlands (2-3 days per week). Flexibility to travel is essential.
Key responsibilities:- Engineering support for deployable communications and CIS capability
- Systems and network integration within secure defence environments
- Supporting platform builds, configuration and deployment activities
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues across networking and infrastructure layers
- Working with stakeholders across engineering, programme and operational teams
- Strong background as a Network Engineer, Systems Engineer or Communications Engineer
- Experience working within MOD or defence environments
- Cisco networking experience (CCNA or equivalent knowledge desirable)
- Experience working on secure platforms or deployable CIS environments
- MAB experience highly desirable
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Current DV Clearance
- Sole UK National
