We are seeking two experienced 2nd/3rd Line Platform Engineers to support and develop a secure MOD platform within a highly controlled defence environment. This is a hands‐on contract role focused on operational stability, automation, and continuous platform improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 2nd/3rd line support across incident, problem, and change management
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve complex infrastructure issues
- Maintain and improve automation using Ansible, AutoFS, and GoCD
- Administer Linux (RHEL/CentOS) and Windows Server systems, including patching and configuration
- Support Citrix and virtualised platforms including VMware vSphere and vRA
- Monitor system health using SCOM and other enterprise monitoring tools
- Collaborate with engineering teams and mentor junior colleagues
Essential Experience
- Strong background in 2nd/3rd line platform or infrastructure engineering, ideally within secure or defence environments
- Solid experience with Linux and Windows Server administration
- Hands‐on automation experience using Ansible
- Working knowledge of Citrix, VMware vSphere, and vRA
- Experience with Git, Nexus, and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with SCOM, Jumpboxes, AutoFS, and log rotation
- Active DV clearance (mandatory)
Desirable
- Experience with Vault, FreeIPA, Katello, Galaxy, or GoCD
- Knowledge of DA, MECM
