We are seeking an experienced Solaris Engineer to join a senior-level Solaris team responsible for delivering both Managed Service and Project activities across a complex infrastructure environment. The team provides support across Live, Development and Test environments, while also delivering change and project work. This role will involve a significant amount of migration and transformation activity, with some out-of-hours work required when supporting project deliveries. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing operating system support and maintenance across Solaris 10 and Solaris 11 servers, covering both physical and virtual environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide support and maintenance for Solaris 10 and Solaris 11 operating systems. Support physical and virtual Solaris server environments. Deliver operational support across Live, Development and Test environments. Troubleshoot and resolve issues across UNIX and Linux platforms. Develop and maintain UNIX shell scripts. Deliver infrastructure change activity and project-based work. Support migration and transformation initiatives. Work collaboratively within a Managed Services team to maintain and improve service delivery. Participate in out-of-hours activities when required to support project implementations.
Skills & Experience Required:
Strong working knowledge of Solaris 10 and Solaris 11 operating systems. Ability to develop and maintain high-quality UNIX shell scripts. Experience supporting and troubleshooting across multi-platform UNIX/Linux estates. Understanding of network technologies and components. Understanding of cloud computing principles, particularly in the context of infrastructure management and service delivery.
