We are supporting a large-scale insurance transformation programme entering a critical delivery phase and are looking to engage an experienced Finance Data Design Lead. This role sits at the centre of delivery, bridging architecture and engineering, and will play a key part in shaping and implementing complex finance and actuarial data solutions.
The Role
You will be responsible for translating high-level architecture into detailed, implementable designs across finance, actuarial and regulatory reporting data domains. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing finance data models (including IFRS17, actuarial and sub-ledger structures)
- Defining data pipelines and processing logic within cloud data platforms
- Establishing reconciliation and control frameworks across reporting outputs
- Working closely with architecture, engineering and platform teams to ensure alignment
- Embedding data quality, governance and auditability across solutions
Experience Required
- Strong experience in insurance data environments (essential)
- Proven track record delivering finance or actuarial data solutions
- Experience with IFRS17, regulatory or statutory reporting
- Hands-on exposure to Databricks, Spark and Python-based pipelines
- Ability to operate effectively within large-scale, complex programmes
Engagement Details
- Contract: Outside IR35
- Day Rate: £900 - £1,100 (flexible depending on experience)
- Duration: 6-12 months
- Location: London (3 days per week onsite)
