An opportunity is available for an experienced Application Developer to join a large scale, long running delivery programme supporting critical business applications. The Application Developer will work within a mature enterprise environment that integrates software and infrastructure across a large data centre and thousands of end points. This is a senior role requiring strong Java expertise, design capability, and confidence working independently.
As an Application Developer, you will:
- Design, develop, test, and support Java based business applications.
- Provide fourth line application support, including root cause analysis of live incidents and defects.
- Assess and implement changes raised through formal change proposals.
- Maintain and review HLD, LLD, and component test documentation.
- Carry out code reviews and mentor other developers, including offshore teams.
- Support test, pilot, migration, and rollout activities across ongoing projects.
Skills and Experience:
- Three to four years minimum Java development experience.
- Strong experience with Maven, XML, SQL, and Java IDEs such as Eclipse.
- Experience with version control systems such as Subversion.
- Ability to work on large and complex code bases.
- Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Linux, scripting, Atlassian tools, or modelling tools is beneficial.
