We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DB2) to support a major enterprise technology transformation programme involving large-scale database migration, optimisation, and platform modernisation activities. This is a hands-on role focused on DB2 administration, Oracle-to-DB2 migration, performance tuning, security, and operational support. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of critical database environments during a significant upgrade and migration programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Oracle-to-DB2 migration activities, ensuring smooth transition and minimal business disruption.
- Install, configure, administer, and support DB2 database environments.
- Refactor and migrate Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures for DB2 compatibility.
- Develop and execute database migration strategies, plans, and validation activities.
- Perform performance monitoring, tuning, and optimisation of DB2 environments.
- Design and manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Support database security, compliance, and governance requirements.
- Troubleshoot database issues and provide root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and project teams throughout migration and deployment activities.
- Ensure database standards, operational procedures, and documentation are maintained.
