We're supporting a specialist engineering organisation delivering advanced safety-critical systems across regulated industries. They're looking for an experienced FPGA Design Engineer to join on a contract basis (outside IR35), contributing to a key phase of a high-reliability hardware programme. This is an opportunity to apply your FPGA expertise on real-time, embedded systems that demand precision, integrity, and certification-ready design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full lifecycle FPGA development using VHDL - from architecture and coding through to simulation and testbench creation
- Work to stringent quality and traceability standards, including DO-254 compliance
- Close collaboration with hardware, software, and systems engineers to integrate FPGA designs into wider platforms
- Documentation and technical reporting to meet project milestones and certification needs
Essential Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with FPGA development in VHDL
- Previous work on safety-critical or high-reliability systems
- DO-254 experience - ideally delivering DAL B or C designs
- Familiarity with verification methodologies and simulation tools (e.g. ModelSim, Vivado, etc.)
- Able to work autonomously in a multi-disciplinary team
Contract Details:
- Outside IR35
- Initial 6-month engagement with likely extension
- Hybrid working - 2 Days Per Week Onsite
