Length: 6 months
The role involves manufacturing various components and assemblies using recognised processes and skills. You will produce quality finished components and assemblies in accordance with drawings and MBS routings/manufacturing build specifications to aerospace standards.
Responsibilities:- Work efficiently within agreed standards, without supervision.
- Work accurately and pay attention to detail.
- Obtain and maintain operator self-inspection capability.
- Work as a team member with a flexible attitude towards work.
- Be responsible for housekeeping and tidiness on the shop floor.
- Proactively aid the Team Leader/management team in improving the efficiency of the operation in terms of Quality, Cost, and Delivery.
- Set up jigs and fixtures for assembly and test purposes.
- Be an expert in at least one of the processes with the ability to train others.
- Actively participate in root cause analysis investigations.
- Support/advise engineering regarding new product introduction.
- Be familiar with Health and Safety and Fire policies for the company and attend mandatory updates when required.
- Have a good awareness of Environmental procedures (ISO 14001) and their application.
- Proven relevant experience.
- Expert in at least one of the following processes: Vacuum Brazing, General Assembly, Soldering (J-STD 001).
- Experience of performing manual assembly operations - manual dexterity.
- Skilled in the reading and interpretation of engineering drawings.
- Basic oral and written communication skills.
- Good eyesight including depth perception/normal colour vision.
- Experience in any of the following processes (Desirable): Encapsulation/Potting.
- Self-motivated and committed to Quality.
- Ability to learn new skills and procedures.
- Ability to work to deadlines and tight timescales.
- Team player.
- Understanding of Lean tools - 6S/Poke Yoke/Kan Bans/VSMs (Desirable).
