Overview
We are seeking an experienced Digital Learning Designer / Developer to join a global Digital Learning Development (DLD) function on a long‑term contract. The successful candidate will be directly responsible for the design, development, and delivery of high‑quality digital learning assets supporting global Pharmaceutical, Quality, and Commercialisation learning academies. Digital Learning Development is a multi‑disciplinary team delivering scalable, high‑impact digital learning solutions to a global audience. This role plays a critical part in supporting operational qualification training, compliance, risk management, and capability development within a highly regulated environment.
Scope
- Global remit supporting learning academies across Pharmaceutical R&D, Quality Management Systems, and Global Commercialisation
- Learning solutions delivered across 50+ countries, reaching 10,000+ users
- Digital learning outputs are integral to operational readiness, licensing, compliance, and performance improvement
Key Responsibilities
Digital Learning Design & Delivery- Lead the instructional design framework, independently delivering projects or coordinating specialist resources across:
- Technical programming and coding
- Art direction and multimedia design
- Testing and quality assurance
- Act as a subject‑matter expert and digital learning design consultant, applying modern learning strategies and advanced instructional design methodologies.
- Select and deploy appropriate authoring technologies to balance cost efficiency, learner engagement, innovation, and scalability.
- Play a key role or co‑lead global learning event development teams and contribute to the wider learning community.
- Lead storyboard design and oversee all build, programming, and art‑direction activities.
- Ensure rigorous quality control and user acceptance testing of all digital learning solutions.
- Ensure all deliverables meet:
- Technical standards
- SCORM / AICC compliance
- Code consistency
- Brand and accessibility requirements
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Instructional Design, Learning Technologies, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years' experience in a senior digital learning / e‑learning role, or a lower‑level qualification supplemented by 8+ years' relevant experience with demonstrable career progression.
- Strong portfolio evidencing innovative, interactive digital learning and communications.
- Advanced proficiency in digital authoring and creative design tools, including:
- HTML5
- Adobe Creative Suite (including Audition & After Effects)
- Articulate 360, Rise, gomo, Captivate
- Synthesia or comparable platforms
