A high-growth investment group is looking for a senior machine learning leader to work across multiple AI-driven portfolio companies, helping scale machine learning capability from early experimentation into production-ready, commercially impactful systems. This role sits closely with founders, CTOs, product leaders, and investors, shaping how AI is embedded across products, platforms, and operational environments.
Responsibilities
- Define and guide machine learning strategy across multiple portfolio companies
- Help AI and engineering teams move ML initiatives from proof of concept into scalable production systems
- Align machine learning initiatives with product, commercial, and operational goals
- Advise on architecture across LLMs, agentic systems, MLOps, data pipelines, and model deployment environments
- Support leadership teams with AI roadmap prioritisation, delivery oversight, and capability planning
- Improve collaboration between product, data, and engineering functions
- Provide structured updates and strategic insight to senior stakeholders and investors
- Identify gaps across teams, tooling, and operating models to improve execution maturity
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience across machine learning, AI, or data-driven environments
- Experience leading ML teams within production-scale businesses
- Strong understanding of LLMs, MLOps, AI platform architecture, and scalable ML systems
- Experience operating within high-growth SaaS, AI-native, TechBio, or data platform businesses
- Ability to connect technical AI initiatives to measurable business outcomes
- Comfortable influencing CTOs, founders, and executive stakeholders
- Strong commercial awareness alongside technical depth
- Experience scaling AI products, platforms, or machine learning capability within fast-moving organisations
