We are seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer to join a busy onsite support team in Wrexham. This role requires strong customer-facing skills, excellent technical ability, and proven experience supporting users in a fast-paced enterprise environment. If you thrive in hands-on support, enjoy tackling a wide range of technical issues, and have solid 2nd-line capability, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 2nd Line onsite support to users, including VIP support
- Deliver Windows OS installations, configurations, and deployments
- Support tablet and device rollouts, including imaging, UAT, and end-user handover
- Administer Active Directory, user accounts, group policies, and Exchange support
- Conduct Wintel administration, patching, WSUS management, and Windows Server support (2008/2012/2016)
- Troubleshoot and support TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, and general network issues
- Provide LAN support, basic network administration, and assist with CCTV infrastructure
- Support Office 365, Outlook, and Microsoft Office applications
- Assist with infrastructure upgrades, OS updates, and enterprise-wide rollout projects
- Work with ESX VMware, RDP, Citrix Presentation Server environments
Required Experience
- 3-5+ years in an IT Service Desk or 2nd Line Support role
- Strong customer-facing and soft skills - confident supporting users face-to-face
- Hands-on experience with: Windows OS / Windows Server, Active Directory & Exchange, Networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs), O365 support, Device rollouts & hardware deployment, VMware / RDP / Citrix environments
- Relevant certifications (MCP/MCSE) highly desirable
