Join a leading UK Defence Prime delivering some of the most complex and safety-critical engineering programmes in the industry. We're looking for an experienced Product Safety Engineer to help ensure the safe delivery of advanced defence systems used in real-world operational environments. This role is based in Bristol, with a hybrid setup requiring 3 days per week onsite with highly skilled systems, hardware, software, and programme teams.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting the safety lifecycle across a range of cutting-edge defence projects.
- Developing and maintaining Product Safety Management Plans.
- Conducting hazard identification, FMECA, FHA, FTA and other safety analyses.
- Producing and reviewing Safety Cases and technical justification.
- Working closely with engineering teams to ensure designs meet applicable safety standards.
- Supporting compliance activities across the development and verification process.
- Engaging with stakeholders, certifiers, and customers on safety matters.

What We're Looking For
- Experience in Product Safety Engineering within defence, aerospace, or similarly regulated domains.
- Knowledge of standards such as DEF-STAN 00-056, IEC 61508, ARP 4761, or equivalents.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience in safety analysis techniques.
- Ability to develop and maintain safety documentation and assurance evidence.
- Confident communicator able to work with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- UK nationality required due to project security requirements.
