We are looking for an experienced Data Test Analyst / Test & Data Lead to join a Learning Analytics programme. This role sits between a Business Analyst and a Test Manager, requiring strong testing, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement skills.
You will be responsible for test analysis, data validation, UAT support, and go-live readiness, ensuring that a third-party analytics platform, associated data flows, dashboards, and access controls are fit for deployment. This role requires someone comfortable working alongside solution architects to map data flows, validate integrations, and support end-to-end business scenarios.
Key Responsibilities- Define and own test strategy, plans, scripts, and documentation
- Deliver system, integration, regression, UAT, and data testing
- Validate end-to-end data flows across multiple systems and platforms
- Use SQL (or similar) for data analysis, reconciliation, and validation
- Manage defects end-to-end (logging, triage, prioritisation, retesting, closure)
- Work with business users to define and execute UAT scenarios
- Validate role-based access, permissions, and user visibility rules
- Collaborate with architects to map and understand data flows
- Work with vendors and internal teams to investigate and resolve issues
- Provide clear reporting on test coverage, risks, defects, and readiness
- Support go-live readiness and acceptance recommendations
- Test strategy and end-to-end test plan
- System, integration, regression, and UAT scripts
- Test execution evidence and reporting
- Data reconciliation and validation outputs

- Must have experience working within the Higher Education sector (including student data and/or student record systems)
- Proven experience as a Test Analyst / Data Test Analyst / QA Analyst
- Strong experience across test planning, execution, and UAT coordination
- Hands-on SQL experience for data validation and reconciliation
- Strong data analysis and data quality investigation skills
- Experience testing data flows, integrations, and dashboards
- Solid defect management experience
- Ability to work across business, technical, and vendor stakeholders
- Experience working alongside architects or technical teams to map data flows
- Comfortable working in a hybrid BA / Testing role
- Experience with student record systems, VLE platforms, or learning analytics tools
- Understanding of APIs, SSO, SAML, SFTP, and data ingestion pipelines
- Experience working with sensitive or anonymised data
- Experience with pilot launches or go-live support
- Full test coverage across data flows, integrations, and user journeys
- Clear validation of data quality and reporting accuracy
- Effective defect control and risk visibility
- Strong support for go-live readiness and successful deployment
