We're supporting a national healthcare technology organisation looking for a hands-on Senior DevOps Engineer to join a growing Cloud & Platform Engineering function. This is a delivery-focused role where you'll work directly on pipelines, automation, containerisation and secure cloud deployments, with real ownership across day-to-day engineering tasks. This isn't an architectural or purely governance-led position - it's ideal for someone who enjoys building, improving and running modern DevSecOps tooling in an evolving Azure environment.
What you'll be doing:
- Build, improve and support CI/CD pipelines across Azure DevOps
- Implement IaC using Terraform/Bicep and contribute to module standardisation
- Work with Azure container services (Container Apps, ACI, AKS where relevant)
- Configure and maintain scanning, secrets management, policy enforcement and pipeline controls
- Build secure network patterns including private endpoints, VNets and hybrid connectivity
- Contribute to platform hardening, patching, and DevSecOps practices
- Troubleshoot across identity, networking, containers, and pipeline execution
- Collaborate closely with cloud engineers and the wider delivery teams
What we're looking for:
- Strong recent hands-on DevOps engineering experience
- Solid Azure background (AWS awareness useful but not essential)
- Practical containerisation experience (Docker, AKS/ACA/ACI)
- Proven Terraform experience (authoring modules, reusable patterns, IaC pipelines)
- Confident with CI/CD delivery and pipeline optimisation
- Understanding of private endpoints, networking fundamentals and cloud-native patterns
- Someone hungry to grow, learn and evolve into broader responsibilities over time
Why this role:
- A modernising environment with room to influence engineering standards
- Azure-first direction (with some AWS expected to retire within 12-18 months)
- Opportunity to help shape DevSecOps maturity
- Work closely with a high-calibre contractor team while building permanent capability
- Owned, impactful work in a national healthcare organisation
If you're a strong, hands-on Azure DevOps Engineer looking for a role with impact, ownership and modern engineering challenges, we'd love to talk.
