I am working with an established manufacturing business that is investing in its internal technology capability. They are looking for a Software and Data Engineer to take ownership of business critical applications, data pipelines and systems integrations. This is a varied, hands on role where you will solve live technical issues while delivering longer term improvements across the business.
The role
- Develop and improve applications using Python, FastAPI, React and TypeScript
- Build and support data pipelines, DAGs and SQL models
- Work with BigQuery, MongoDB and Google Cloud
- Develop APIs and integrations between operational and ERP systems
- Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability
- Automate manual processes and improve data quality
- Support testing, deployments, monitoring and code reviews
- Turn business requirements into practical technical solutions
- Identify valuable opportunities to use automation and AI
About you
- Strong commercial experience with Python and SQL
- Experience with APIs, data integrations and cloud deployment
- Good knowledge of data pipelines and data modelling
- Experience supporting live, business critical systems
- An understanding of testing, CI/CD and release processes
- Clear communication and confident stakeholder management
- A practical approach to balancing quality, risk and delivery
Experience with SAP or another ERP system would be advantageous. A background in manufacturing, engineering or distribution would also be useful.
