A large, regulated organisation is delivering a significant Salesforce transformation centred on Salesforce Financial Services Cloud. We are looking for a Salesforce Development Team Lead with strong architectural capability to lead day-to-day engineering delivery, set technical direction, and build a high-performing in-house Salesforce team.

This role combines hands-on development, technical leadership, and people leadership, sitting within a Salesforce Centre of Excellence and working closely with Product, Architecture and delivery partners.

The Role

You will act as the technical lead for the Salesforce development team, remaining close to the code while owning design quality, delivery standards and team capability. While you will influence platform architecture, your primary focus is ensuring developers are productive, solutions are well-built, and releases are reliable and compliant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of Salesforce developers through hands-on technical leadership
  • Set clear coding standards, design patterns and best practices across Apex, LWC and Flows
  • Remain actively involved in build activity, including complex development and technical problem solving
  • Own technical solution design for user stories and features, ensuring alignment with wider platform architecture
  • Act as escalation point for technical challenges and production issues
  • Conduct code reviews, provide mentoring and coach developers to raise overall team capability
  • Drive adoption of CI/CD and release management practices (e.g. Copado)
  • Work closely with Product Owners to shape backlogs, estimate work and manage technical risk
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects to ensure solutions align with target-state architecture and regulatory expectations
  • Support the transition from external delivery partners to sustainable in-house ownership

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Strong experience as a Salesforce Technical Lead or Team Lead
  • Proven hands-on Salesforce development expertise (Apex, LWC, SOQL/SOSL, Flows)
  • Experience leading development teams, including code reviews, mentoring and technical decision-making
  • Solid understanding of Salesforce Financial Services Cloud and complex data models
  • Experience delivering Salesforce solutions in regulated or enterprise environments
  • Good understanding of Salesforce security, sharing models and performance considerations
  • Practical experience with CI/CD and structured release management
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I certification (or equivalent experience)

Desirable

  • Prior experience in financial services, wealth or asset management
  • Exposure to OmniStudio and Industry Cloud tooling
  • Familiarity with Salesforce Data Cloud or advanced data integration patterns
  • Platform Developer II or Financial Services Cloud accreditation

What Success Looks Like

A confident, well-supported Salesforce development team delivering high-quality work. Consistent, predictable releases with strong test coverage and controls. Reduced dependency on external suppliers through effective knowledge transfer.
