We are currently seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join our Legal Operations team on a long‑term contract. This role will support key digital and transformation priorities across the General Counsel function, with a strong focus on improving data capture, insight generation, and the effective use of AI‑enabled solutions.
The successful candidate will help drive better data‑led decision‑making across areas including external legal spend, internal demand management, and the adoption of AI tools and platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Support improved data capture and analysis relating to external counsel usage, including spend, matter data, and insight generation.
- Contribute to the development of a Legal Front Door, supporting the capture and analysis of incoming work, demand sources, resourcing models, and opportunities for optimisation and automation.
- Enable and support the use of AI tools and platforms to automate workflows and create self‑service capabilities for internal business partners.
- Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards to provide clear and actionable insights.
- Ensure high standards of data quality, governance, and auditability across all datasets.
- Prepare datasets for AI consumption, ensuring consistent schemas, well‑defined metadata, and clean, logical taxonomies.
- Translate business and legal questions into structured analytical outputs and insights.
- Support AI pilots and initiatives with evidence‑based measurement and reporting (desirable).
- Strong experience working with structured and semi‑structured data (e.g. matter data, intake forms, workflow metadata, usage logs).
- Proven SQL capability for querying, transforming, and validating data.
- Hands‑on experience building and maintaining Power BI dashboards.
- Solid understanding of data quality management, including validation, deduplication, completeness checks, and audit requirements.
- Experience preparing data for AI use, including consistent schemas, clear metadata definitions, and clean and logical taxonomies (e.g. work types, risk levels, outcomes).
- Understanding of how AI tools consume and rely on data quality.
- Familiarity with Microsoft AI tools such as M365 Copilot and Copilot Studio.
- Experience working with datasets such as matter and intake data, external legal spend, contract and workflow data, and tool usage and adoption metrics.
- Ability to define, track, and communicate value metrics such as time saved, work redirected, or cost avoidance (desirable).
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate insights clearly.
