Rate: Competitive Market Rates The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DB2) to support a major enterprise technology transformation programme involving large-scale database migration, optimisation, and platform modernisation activities. This is a hands-on role focused on DB2 administration, Oracle-to-DB2 migration, performance tuning, security, and operational support. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of critical database environments during a significant upgrade and migration programme. Key Responsibilities Lead Oracle-to-DB2 migration activities, ensuring smooth transition and minimal business disruption. Install, configure, administer, and support DB2 database environments. Refactor and migrate Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures for DB2 compatibility. Develop and execute database migration strategies, plans, and validation activities. Perform performance monitoring, tuning, and optimisation of DB2 environments. Design and manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions. Support database security, compliance, and governance requirements. Troubleshoot database issues and provide root cause analysis. Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and project teams throughout migration and deployment activities. Ensure database standards, operational procedures, and documentation are maintained.
