3rd Line Network Engineer – WAN Support – Must be eligible for SC Clearance Sponsorship will be offered
We are looking for a confident and capable 3rd Line WAN Network Engineer to join a highly skilled team based in Birmingham. This role offers the chance to work in a technically rewarding environment, supporting critical network infrastructure and taking ownership of complex implementation and escalation tasks.
As a key member of the team, you will be involved in both business-as-usual (BAU) support and project delivery. You\’ll work with a variety of Juniper platforms and networking technologies, taking responsibility for advanced configuration, troubleshooting and tuning.
Key Responsibilities:

Support and maintain a secure, global WAN network environment

Configure Juniper SRX series routers in line with project deadlines

Act as a 3rd line escalation point for network-related incidents

Deliver network implementation and support activities to a \’right first time\’ standard

Collaborate with network architects and designers to ensure seamless project delivery

Contribute to technical knowledge sharing and upskilling within the 3rd line team
Essential Skills & Experience:

Strong hands-on experience with Juniper SRX and MX platforms
- Will consider extensive Cisco if no Juniper experience

In-depth knowledge of Junos OS and CLI configuration

Advanced understanding of BGP, including policy-based routing, load balancing and attribute manipulation

Strong troubleshooting experience with IPSEC VPNs and MPLS networks

Solid grasp of PKI infrastructure, including certificate-based VPN authentication

Strong knowledge of routing and switching principles
