A fast-growing AI startup is redefining how complex, service-driven industries operate. They are now searching for a hands-on, technically exceptional VP of Engineering to lead their engineering organisation through its next phase of scale.
This role is ideal for someone currently operating as a Senior Engineering Manager or Head of Engineering who is ready to step into full VP-level ownership — staying close to the code while building world-class teams and systems.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and scale the engineering organisation while remaining deep in the technical details.
- Stay hands-on: contribute to architecture, code reviews, and high-impact engineering decisions.
- Own the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of AI-powered SaaS products.
- Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team across backend, AI, and platform.
- Define and drive the technical architecture, ensuring scalability, resilience, and performance.
- Partner closely with Product and Design to ship user-focused, high-impact features.
- Introduce best practices across automation, AI integration, CI/CD, and system reliability.
- Contribute to strategic planning, helping shape the long-term tech roadmap and company vision.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience leading engineering teams in a product-led technology environment.
- Background as a Senior Engineering Manager / Head of Engineering transitioning up to VP — with real ownership of people, platforms, and delivery.
- Excellent hands-on technical foundation: Python, distributed systems, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and modern architectural patterns.
- Proven track record delivering scalable SaaS or AI-enabled platforms.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to set engineering standards and processes.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Startup or scale-up experience and a genuine enthusiasm for building high-quality products.
- Ambition to grow into a future CTO and take a central role in company growth.
