We are seeking an experienced Trials Manager with a strong background in the maritime sector to lead and coordinate system trials for complex maritime platforms. This role will involve planning, executing, and reporting trials, ensuring alignment with technical, operational, and safety requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, operations, and project teams to deliver successful trials programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of maritime system trials.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive trials plans, procedures, and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, operations, and stakeholders, to ensure smooth execution of trials.
  • Capture, analyse, and report trial data to inform verification, validation, and system improvements.
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, and deviations during trials, implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Provide technical guidance and support throughout the trial lifecycle.
  • Ensure all trials are conducted safely and comply with relevant regulations and standards.

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Trials Manager or in a similar role within the maritime sector.
  • Strong knowledge of maritime systems, MCM, sonar, or related technologies.
  • Demonstrable experience in planning and executing complex system trials.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of liaising with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in contract positions, Outside IR35.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience with defence or government projects.
  • Familiarity with system verification and validation processes.
  • Ability to adapt to varying operational environments and project requirements.
