This is a highly capable, collaborative, and strategically focused commercial team that plays a critical role in ensuring robust governance, value for money, and effective decision-making at programme and portfolio level. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the development and delivery of commercial strategies across large, complex public sector programmes.
- Provide end-to-end oversight of the commercial and procurement lifecycle, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and successful delivery outcomes.
- Develop, shape, and deliver HM Treasury Green Book-compliant business cases, ensuring commercial robustness, value for money, and audit readiness.
- Operate effectively within high-governance, high-assurance environments, including experience supporting Public Accounts Committee (PAC) scrutiny.
- Deliver governance, assurance, and compliance activities in line with public sector standards, controls, and procurement regulations.
- Engage with audit and scrutiny functions, ensuring transparency, accountability, and adherence to best practice.
- Influence, challenge, and provide strategic commercial advice to senior stakeholders, including programme leadership and executive-level decision-makers.
- Provide commercial insight across multiple workstreams within complex organisational structures.
- Ensure effective utilisation of Crown Commercial Service (CCS) frameworks and compliance with relevant public procurement regulations.
Active SC clearance is mandatory for this position and candidates without this clearance will not be considered.
