We’re hiring a Build Reliability Engineer to support the day‑to‑day health of a large‑scale, complex build environment within a tech / gaming organisation. This is a hands‑on, front‑line role focused on monitoring, triage, deep investigation, and clear communication — not CI/CD pipeline design. You’ll take full ownership of build failures, carrying issues from first alert through to root‑cause insight.

The Role:

You’ll be embedded in the build farm, acting as the first point of contact when builds fail. Your focus will be on analysing logs, identifying patterns, linking failures to specific code changes or contributors, and feeding clear, evidence‑based insight back to engineering teams. This is an operational support role, not a pipeline engineering or architectural position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor build pipelines and build farm output
  • Act as first responder to build failures and instability
  • Analyse logs and build behaviour to identify root causes
  • Connect failures to specific code changes or contributors
  • Identify recurring issues and patterns across builds
  • Work closely with development, QA, and infrastructure teams
  • Communicate build health and issues clearly to stakeholders
  • Maintain simple troubleshooting documentation

What We’re Looking For:

We’re looking for engineers who go beyond surface‑level triage and take real ownership. You’ll likely be a strong fit if you:

  • Own build failures end‑to‑end (triage → investigation → insight)
  • Debug in a structured, evidence‑driven way
  • Can clearly explain your technical reasoning
  • Spot trends across builds, not just one‑off failures
  • Communicate collaboratively and solution‑first
  • Have practical experience with build systems and source control

Skills & Experience:

  • 3–5 years in build support, build engineering, or operational reliability
  • Strong understanding of build farms and pipelines
  • Proven experience triaging build failures
  • Confident analysing logs and build outputs
  • Exposure to debugging / code analysis (C# and/or C++)
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Comfortable in a fast‑paced, support‑driven environment

What Success Looks Like:

  • Build failures understood and triaged quickly
  • Clear, actionable insight returned to engineering teams
  • Recurring issues identified early
  • Strong trust in the build support function
  • Build stability improves through investigation, not redesign

Contract Details:

  • PAYE Contract
  • Hybrid – Leicestershire (3 days onsite)
  • 18‑month PAYE Contract

Please apply for immediate consideration.
