We’re hiring a Microsoft Purview Data Security Consultant to support an assessment‑only data security engagement for a major enterprise. This role focuses on using Microsoft Purview and Microsoft 365 insight tooling to understand how sensitive data is created, shared, and exposed across the organisation — without any configuration or policy enforcement.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Identifying sensitive data concentrations, oversharing, external collaboration exposure, and stale/high‑risk content.
- Conducting identity‑driven risk analysis, including elevated access patterns and external sharing behaviour.
- Performing a limited on‑premise proof‑of‑discovery across selected file repositories.
- Engaging business stakeholders to understand key processes, data usage, governance gaps, and pain points.
- Mapping Purview findings to real business processes to show where data risks impact operations or compliance.

What You’ll Need
- Strong experience with Microsoft Purview, M365 data governance, and data security assessments.
- Ability to interpret Purview discovery outputs and translate them into business‑aligned recommendations.

- Confident communicator with experience running workshops/interviews and presenting to senior stakeholders.
