You will be given the opportunity to work within a delivery environment, supporting on Cost Specialist activities for projects/programmes. It will also enable you to collaborate with likeminded individuals to help solve complex problems within the nuclear and infrastructure space. As part of the programme, you will be provided with the necessary tools, experience, and training to help develop your skills within project, programme and portfolio management (P3M). You will receive best in class training within project management, planning and controls, Primavera (planning/scheduling tool) and Excel. Courses will also cover soft skills such as negotiation presentation, emotional intelligence and conflict resolution. The training is centred around scenario-based learning, where you will be involved in practical application workshops.
As a Cost Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is your opportunity to become part of a leading nuclear services company, and to support the costs portfolio for high priority infrastructure upgrade projects. Playing a critical role in ensuring that our projects are completed successfully, on time, and within budget, whilst implementing best practices.
Day to day, you’ll secure required resources and use formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks and changes, as well as managing projects to ensure on-time completion according to specifications and within budgeted costs. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders granting you great exposure to the wider business and various opportunities across Cavendish Nuclear and Babcock, all whilst working in our brand new office in central Glasgow.
Responsibilities include:
- Co-ordination and collation of all project cost data for the joint venture.
- Production of the joint venture Revenue and Cost Reports.
- Provide forward looking trends and variance analysis information identifying expected project cost performance and comparisons against applicable project performance targets.
- Facilitates re-forecasting exercises with the Project Team to ensure accurate forecasting.
- Ensuring cost reporting alignment with the Project WBS.
- Assist with Monthly Billing.
