Experis are recruiting for an SC Cleared Facilities Manager to support a major MoD Government Agency based in Somerset. This is a 12-month contract working within a secure defence environment, supporting the delivery of hard and soft facilities management services across a complex estate. The successful candidate will act as a key interface between customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders, ensuring services are delivered safely, effectively and in line with agreed performance standards.

The role is hybrid, however candidates must be able to attend the Somerset office when requested, typically one day or more per week. Candidates will also be expected to attend site on day one to meet the team and collect equipment. Travel to the office will not be expensed.

Key responsibilities
  • Act as the key customer interface and FM subject matter expert across site operations.
  • Support delivery of hard and soft FM services, including reactive repairs, maintenance and billable works.
  • Manage supplier performance, escalate service issues and support resolution of operational problems.
  • Monitor site safety, compliance, risks, assurance activity and service delivery against KPIs.
  • Lead or support site meetings, governance forums and stakeholder engagement.
  • Support maintenance programmes, minor works and wider property/project delivery activities.
  • Ensure services comply with relevant policies, statutory requirements and MOD processes.
Essential experience
  • Active and transferable SC clearance from the outset.
  • Active BPSS required from the outset.
  • Experience in facilities management, property, estates, infrastructure or similar environments.
  • Strong customer relationship management and stakeholder liaison experience.
  • Supplier management experience, including performance monitoring, issue escalation and service improvement.
  • Understanding of health & safety, compliance and statutory/regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to operate in a secure, process-driven environment.
Desirable experience
  • Experience working within defence, MOD, government, public sector or secure estates.
  • Commercial experience within property, facilities management or infrastructure services.
  • Experience managing hard and soft FM services through third-party suppliers.
  • Knowledge of building regulations, statutory processes or construction-related legislation.
  • Professional property, technical or FM qualification, or working towards one.
Clearance notes

Candidates must hold active and transferable SC clearance and be currently working for the SC sponsor. Candidates with previous failed SC checks are unlikely to be progressed. Candidates who have spent more than 28 consecutive days abroad in the last five years may need to provide additional evidence, which could impact onboarding. Applicants must be UK-based and cannot work from abroad. Military veterans are guaranteed an interview where they meet the role requirements.
